The Mater Young Adult Health Centre Brisbane is a specialised service providing adolescents and young adults with high quality care, as well as uniquely tailored programs that address their emotional, social and developmental needs... and you can help them.
Mercy Super will be sending one lucky member on an incredible adventure trekking through rolling hills and cobbled street villages from Lucca to Siena, along the ancient Via Francigena walking route – while also raising life-changing funds for Mater’s Young Adult Health Centre Brisbane.
By joining Mater’s Trek to Tuscany, you will help transform the lives of adolescents facing illness and disease. The funds you raise will support the Mater Young Adult Health Centre, a dedicated space to provide vital services to young adults and adolescents facing chronic conditions, mental health challenges and issues with substance abuse.
The Mater Young Adult Health Centre (MYAHC) Brisbane is the first service of its kind in Queensland, and one of only a few nationwide. It includes the Amanda Flynn Clinic, a 12-bed inpatient mental health service, which will help address the unmet need in Queensland for a focused mental health service for young adults aged 16 to 25.
To help make this happen Mercy Super are looking to support one Mercy Super member who has the ability to raise at least $5,000 before 8th April 2020 for this important cause.
Rolling hills, olive groves, ancient villages…Tuscany has it all. You’ll experience it up close as you trek for five days along the famous Via Francigena. You’ll be put to the test as you trek to raise funds for Mater’s Young Adults Health Centre. Best of all, you’ll be rewarded with the knowledge that you’ve made a difference to young people facing illness or disease.
Mercy Super will give one lucky member the opportunity to take part in this once in a lifetime experience.
To enter complete and submit the application form by 5pm on Friday the 8th of November 2019. This opportunity is open to all Mercy Super members, regardless of location.
Following this date, a panel of judges will assess the nominations and choose one Mercy Super member to take part on this journey. Once a winner is announced, Mercy Super will cover the registration and package fees (to the value of $3,870) and travel and accommodation fees (to the value of $2,600).
