Mercy Super is Mater’s default super fund.
If you’re a new starter at Mater or even if you’ve been with Mater for a while and had your super contributions going to another fund, you can join and have your future contributions go to Mercy Super simply by completing the relevant sections of this partially completed form.
Alternatively you can use the Choice of Superannuation Fund form that your employer has provided with the following details that you’ll need to complete Section A of the form:
Mercy Super is a profit-for-members fund that exists solely to look after its membership community. That means we can focus on delivering quality products and services that are designed for people like you.
Being part of the Mater, we’re always accessible and you even get to have a say who is on the Trustee Board. As a member you can even run to be a director yourself.
We have a long history of providing investment returns that are consistently above the industry median over the long term1.
Mercy Super members enjoy a simple administration fee of just 0.25% p.a. which is capped at $600 per year (that kicks in when your balance goes over $240,000).
There is no fixed ‘weekly’ fee, no fee for changing investment options, nor buy-sell spreads, no other transaction costs. Simple.
Sometimes retirement doesn’t come the way you planned and that’s when we look to insurance cover for support when life takes an unexpected turn.
We offer a comprehensive insurance cover package which includes income protection cover. If you join Mercy Super within 120 days of starting with Mater, you can opt-in for the cover without the need to provide medical evidence.
We’re a platinum rated super fund as assessed by independent rating agency, SuperRatings. That’s the top rating reserved for the top 25% of super funds in Australia2.
We’re located in the Potter Building on Mater’s South Brisbane campus and that’s where you’ll find our member services specialists and in-house financial advisers. You can just drop in to see us, call or send an email if you have any questions about your super.

We recommend that you consider seeking financial advice before making any decision about transferring your superannuation, as this may affect fees and insured benefits which you currently have.
You’ll need to send your completed Choice of superannuation fund form to Mater Payroll for processing.
Your new Mercy Super account will be established when we receive your first contribution from Mater. Mater remit contributions monthly so, depending on when you lodged your request, it could take 4-6 weeks for your account to be established.
