To provide additional protection your Mercy Super account details, we’ll be adding a new security access step at the login stage known as multi factor authentication.

What is Multi Factor Authentication?

Multi Factor Authentication combines a your existing Member Number and PIN/Password with an additional security factor – a temporary numeric code sent to you to confirm your identity helping to keep your important account information secure.

This ensures a stolen or weak password is not sufficient for an unauthorised person to gain access to your details.

You may already be using multi factor authentication when you access banking or social media sites.

What will you need to do?

Multi Factor Authentication is scheduled to be released to Mercy Super’s Member Online access during March 2019.

Once release, on first login you will enter your Member Number and PIN/Password as usual and you will then be directed to a new page where you will be asked to confirm your email and / or mobile number. You will be guided through the steps to generate a temporary code to complete the authentication process and access your account. This process may take up to two minutes.

On subsequent logins you may be asked for Multi Factor Authentication if you are accessing Member Online from a different location or device.

Multi Factor Authentication will provide an additional layer of security however, we still recommend that you use strong, unique passwords for online accounts.
