Thank you to all who applied to be the Mercy Super sponsored member to participate in the Miles for Miracles: Japan Trek 2019.
We were delighted with the responses we received from our members, and a little overwhelmed by the quality and sincere passion within the applications. A reflection of the wonderful people that make up our membership community.
The judges truly had a difficult time choosing the successful applicant – tears were shed in reading the stories provided by all contenders, it was not an easy decision to make.
However, the judges could only choose one successful applicant, and we are thrilled to announce that Gillian Miller will be embarking on a truly life-changing 12-day adventure trekking in Japan.
Mercy Super will be supporting and following along with Gillian’s journey and we hope that you will help to raise funds and awareness for this worthy cause. Funds raised on the Miles for Miracles: Japan Trek 2019 will go towards furthering research for premature babies’.
Interested in joining Gillian on this amazing adventure? The Mater Foundation are still recruiting for the Miles for Miracles: Japan Trek 2019!
On the trek you will explore Japan’s fascinating history and unique culture on this 12-day journey through one of the historic highways of Japan—the Nakasendo Trail. Known as the ‘road through the mountains’, the Nakasendo Trail leads through forests, rice paddies and historic villages towards the spectacular mountains. Every mile you trek will help raise vital funds for research at Mater to improve the odds for babies born prematurely.
